        Akkermansia contains Akkermansia muciniphila, a beneficial bacterial strain naturally found in the human gut of people with healthy microbiomes. Akkermansia muciniphila has undergone extensive safety studies and found to be safe.

        Can or should I take Akkermansia if I’m pregnant?
        Akkermansia contains a beneficial bacterial strain that exists within the gut microbiome of healthy people, including during pregnancy. To date, Akkermansia has not been studied in women who are either pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Please consult with your healthcare provider to see if this product may be a good fit for you.

        Are there any side effects of taking Akkermansia?
        When starting any new probiotic such as Akkermansia, there can be an adjustment period. You may experience some gastrointestinal symptoms (increased gas, bloating, nausea, or loose stools) that usually resolve over the initial 14 days or with discontinuation of the product.
